Canteen In Changing Room , FACTS That You Should Know.

There is always other side of the coin.

I had a bad experience of not being allowed to explain on my side when there was once an issue arise. Since then , I always start to see things from different perspective prior judging something. With all fairness , I would like to share some info about the school, SK Pristana which came under fire by many Netizen today.

I have visited the school just now and here are the findings :

  • The school canteen was facing problem in accommodating 350 students(the school has 1300 students) who go for recess at same time. This was happening since January 2013
  • The students were siting around the canteen (perimeter) as the canteen is small and could not cater all of them
  •  The HM who saw this decided to use one of the changing room which is located FEW meters RIGHT infront of the canteen.
  • This changing room which were equipped with chairs and tables has been operating SINCE March 2013 and not recently as claimed by some blogs. This was an initiative taken by HM to avoid pupil from sitting around the canteen under hot sun.
  • Until the beginning of Ramadhan ALL students including Malays were using this room as their 'canteen'. So stop your racial cards
  • There is NO..I repeat NO.. toilet located anywhere near by the changing room(currently used) . There is NO toilet bowl inside the changing room too. There are only two changing rooms for male and female respectively located side by side as per pic below
  • You can argue why there is sign of ' Tandas' here.. well that is not 'tandas'. It is changing room. There is NO toilet bowl at all and if you watch closely the student is actually taking out shoe to enter the 'Tandas'(the one on left). The shoes are out there..why?? Anyone who goes to toilet does that? In which school? Anyway this shoes are allowed in this temporary 'canteen'.
  • HM decided to use one of the changing room (male) bcs it has facilities like water supply. It is also placed very near to the canteen as in few meters. It is also easy for the kids to buy and eat somewhere nearby canteen. The female changing room are also placed with tables and chairs but not being used at the moment.
  • Some people asked 'Why not used classrooms or library?' The temporary room has better facilities..water...sinks... and placed just few meters infront canteen..Classrooms and library dont have all these..and located far from canteen. Since my day of schooling we dont practice eating inside classroom...
  • There are 3 Non-Malay teachers teaching in that school. 2 Indians and an Asli. All of them are aware of this and has no problem with this temporary solution at all. Dont you think if Indians are really being treated badly these two teachers would have raged over it?
  • School PIBG are aware of this matter as well. They agree for the 'canteen' to operate
  • The parent who posted this matter in FB only visited the school after being told by a school bus driver that children were eating inside the TOILET. She didnt know that this has been happening since Mac 2013 .
  • The school has been directed to close down this temporary canteen and better alternative requested which has been agreed by the HM.
This is the other side the story that we all failed to understand. The only question that the HM and the school failed to answer is ' Why the canteen has been closed during Ramadhan? ' Arent these small no of children also need to eat? This is not fair for the Non-Muslim kids. I hope the school will prepare an alternate place for recess..ofcourse somewhere better.

I am glad that the school has close down the canteen. No matter what it is inappropriate to eat there and I hope they can introduce two recess period to avoid overcrowded issue like this.

Whether its right or wrong... I let you guys to judge.. I have visited the school and this is the story that I can provide to you guys. If you guys are not satisfied, follow me tomorrow to the school. We can see it together. PIBG will be there as well. Email me if you are coming draam88@gmail.com .

    3. Have they been buka puasa there since the 1st day or just only yesterday? But the children have been using the shower room since March, everyday! And why the teachers still chose to buka puasa there yesterday: 1) since the issue has been highlighted ysterday and 2) the canteen is actually avaliable for buka puasa yesterday? Are they trying to justify that what they had done is right, that is eating in an inappropriate place (shower room) when an appropriate place (canteen) is avalible, but choose not to do do? Are they trying to send the wrong message to all the muslim and non muslim students there? Then the students will get confused and think it is appropriate to eat mana mana mereka suka.

  2. Bro, I just read your blog regarding the school canteen..Now I got a clear picture regarding the actual situation of SK Pristana..I'm glad that a responsible citizen like you explain things 'evidance based' rather than simply dragging racist issue. Although I'm not in Malaysia currently but I read a lot of stories regarding this issue online. Thanks a lot bro for the full explanation and I'm proud of you..Carry on your good work and God Bless You..

  3. In my school, we had to remove our shoes and changed into slippers or clogs to go into the toilet. But that's beside the point. I still do not agree on letting the students eat in changing room. I am sure in such a big school there could be other alternatives. Maybe spliting the recess sessions (have 2 sessions) like how many other schools practice should there be a shortage of space. And they let that prolong for so many months. It's just not right. We are not here to say we are right but it breaks my heart to see this happening to our children.

    3. I totally agree with you, it is still NOT okay to be eating in a changing room. Your suggestion of breaking into 2 recess session is a good one to be considered or alternatively they can use the school hall (my secondary school did that).
So of cause the teachers had to 'buka puasa' in the the changing room too, this to me seems like an act to overcome this recent complains. Lols. If you have a children of your own, would you want them eating in a changing room?

    7. don't you heart breaks by looking the teachers eating in the "toilet"?

the issue are still the same; it's not toilet, but it's changing room. and talks about alternative, why don't people bother to come there and ask them what can we help them on this issue? I believe from the article, it did mention the PIBG also clear on this matter, so why it hasn't been object by the member before? BUMP! the problem here when "ignorant parents" just trying to being a hero without do proper investigation; which is wrong because he/she are circulate incorrect information. do any people bash him/her do that? did he/she apologies on spreading the untruthful information?

I just feel bad to those teacher who help our kids to be smart, and the same time to protect them from...anything. clearly they just want to make sure those kids aren't whining around next to the drain (which is clear disgusting) or ill because of direct sunlight.

I'm not support the school management prosedure, but if I in his/her shoes, I would rather ask the school management why this happening and ask them what I can help to avoid this matter. helping is not just about money.

    8. So..what the alternative solutions would you have to suggest if you could think out of the box....Ping suggest that the recess sessions to be split in two sessions...I agreed with the solution...maybe the PIBG have also agreed with the alternative solution taken by the Headmaster and the teachers...once again..I agreed with what Muhd Syazwan replied. There's a Malay Proverb said....Terlajak perahu boleh diundur..terlajak kata atau perbuatan ..mana nak letak muka....

  5. I think that this is still bad judgement to use that changing room. As far as people are concern, food is to be eaten as far away as possible from place where we clean ourselves or ease ourselves.

I do not think that was a right solution. If as you say congestion/overcrowding was the issue, why not have two recess period, one for lower primary (Year 1- 3) then later (Year 4 - 6) This would be better don't you think? The smaller kids would also not have to joust with the elder ones for food or bullying of the young ones is also avoided.

Sadly, I agree the issue is blown out of proportion but this issue could have been avoided if better judgement is used.

  6. Hi bro, whether its temporary solution or permanent solution... its not a matter. Do we eat at the place we take our shower? Do we still leave in poor country?

As you said the "Bathroom" is operating as a canteen since march 2013 & all the students were sharing the place no matter non Muslims or what. & non of the parents is aware bout this.

Touch your heart & tell. If you was the HM & your kids is studying at the same school. Will you have the heart to ask them eat at so call "Bathroom" ??? (Toilet or bathroom its still the same).

Have to take action on the HM. Muslim or non Muslim, they are small kids. We as a elder need to teach them the proper things. So they don't repeat the same mistake when they grown up.

Don't tell me the school don't have enough of money to build a temporary place for the kids to have their food. (This is Malay school which have full support of government)

If im a one of the kids parent. I swear I don't know what i will do with the HM.

I quote the following paragraph from your post...

"...The school has been directed to close down this temporary canteen and better alternative requested which has been agreed by the HM..."

This is what should have been done and should have happened in the first place. Not an after thought.

And yes the school still has a case to answer on why shut down the canteen for Ramadan ? Are all other humans irrelevant ? Are we being ruled by the taliban ? Or just radical, racists ?

    2. Bro,

If you are sincerely asking question to get an honest answer, please do not limited the answer to your choice of answers or try to suggest the answer. Your question ...

"And yes the school still has a case to answer on why shut down the canteen for Ramadan ? Are all other humans irrelevant ? Are we being ruled by the taliban ? Or just radical, racists ?"

.. shows that you have prejudged and having preconception of things, which may wrong and lead others to have the same thought.

If you need an honest answer, the question should just be "... why shut down the canteen for Ramadan?.." or to be precise, "... why shut down the canteen?", because the reason may not be because of Ramadhan.

  13. There is a difference between a changing room and a changing room with a shower.

I appreciate the clarification but the poor leadership judgement by the school must be addressed.

Just because it has been going on since March does not make it right. Two wrongs do not make a right.

The more difficult question that you should answer is that why a canteen is being renovated or fixed up during school hours and Ramadan when this should be done during the holidays.

  19. Well good if you can tell the other part of story. Now let me ask a simple question. People can claim and accuse anything. Will you let you children to eat in any so call 'bilik persalinan/bilik air/tandas'? Its simple common sense these place are not to eat. and you claim "Some people asked 'Why not used classrooms or library?' The temporary room has better facilities..water...sinks... and placed just few meters infront canteen..Classrooms and library dont have all these..and located far from canteen. Since my day of schooling we dont practice eating inside classroom..." so are you saying been practicing eating in toilet/washroom/changing room? just wondering...

  25. whether its a toilet or changing room, children whether Muslims or non-muslims should not be allowed to eat there....Come-on, you are thinking like a underdevelop citizen, countries like Bangaldesh, Cambodia an the rest also would not do tis kinda of thing. Putting up a canopy, tent or even chairs under tress could have easily solve the problem...
You tink the teachers will complain to ppl higher.
Just because the PIBG knows means its ok..
Since your day of schooling, you did not practise eating in classrooms, so....you ate in bilik persalinan!!!

  26. Thanks for the information. I still don't understand why the canteen has to be closed (according to rumours, it was closed to replace a door with a glass one?) during the whole of Ramadhan.

And another thing, why is there so many students out during recess at one time? Am I to believe that they release all the children all at once? Why not have sessioned recesses to allow a more comfortable eating experience for the children?

Another thing to take note is the length of time this problem has persisted. 7 months is a long time for the school not to take the necessary permanent actions to rectify the problem.

Anyways, thanks for the information. I'm sure the parent's reaction was just, I would have flipped out to if I heard someone I know having to eat lunch in a changing room without knowing the full details. Be that as it may, the problem is a big one, and has caught a lot of attention from the masses and I hope that the necessary people will take the necessary steps to move these children to a more suitable location.

As long as the toilets are kept clean most of the time, no one feels odd to have meals near the toilets. Hence what has been going on at that particular school is nothing odd for poor citizens like me. May be odd only for those who stay in big bungalows. OPajar www.4uni2c.com

  37. I'm afraid your expose didn't work bro cos:

    1. How big is the canteen that renovations cannot be completed since March 2013?
    2. Many other pictures show the kids using shoes in there.
    3. The PIBG want to buka puasa there is their problem, innocent children should not be forced to eat there.
    4. PIBG kids follow parents to buka puasa there means their parents got issues. Anyway they're kids, what you think?
    5. Have split recess time to accomodate 350 students.
    6. You keep mentioning the changing room is used because "is located FEW meters RIGHT infront of the canteen.". The canteen is under renovation and can't be used, how is this a justification?
    7. "Since my day of schooling we dont practice eating inside classroom..." - So it is better not to break that sacred rule and eat in a changing room?
    8. "There are 3 Non-Malay teachers teaching in that school. 2 Indians and an Asli. All of them are aware of this and has no problem with this temporary solution at all. Dont you think if Indians are really being treated badly these two teachers would have raged over it?" - As you said 2 Indian teachers, what you think?

    A better solution would be:

    1. Do renovation during school holidays..DUH!
    2. If cannot, put up a tent next to canteen - "is located FEW meters RIGHT infront of the canteen.". "next to canteen" would be less than a few metres away.

You look like a nice dude trying to clear up some "kecoh" here but seriously do you have any children yet? If not, get some soon and try to get them to eat in a nice looking changing room "a few metres away from canteen". Then ask your own heart how it feels.

I'm confident that would be for a temporary period of time only. A more appropriate form of action will surely be taken by d authorities to rectify this.

Hopefully, being true Malaysians . . . we will bear with patience some aspects of cases such as this at times . . . and not blow anything and everything out of proportion without looking deep into d matter!

  47. May be the school management perceives the changing room is clean enough for the students and also teachers(as shown in the pic) to have their meal. At 1st, I was quite angry about this as well. But then, when I went through the explanations given by some bloggers including you, it makes a lil sense. Yet, I still feel classroom would be a better choice. A part of that, getting emotional about this matter is okay, but why excessively? Don't we have our washrooms inside our house? Some houses even have it near to dining table/room. Or you want to be back into the last century, having toilets outside of your house. If you're 'over' concern about the hygiene, build toilets outside your house, that would be better. :)

  48. Yes this could have been avoided if wise judgement was used, there is no sense in having all these small pondok for deco and children not allowed to use them. Further living in a multiracial country it is Mandatory for each and every decision maker responsible for the public in how they make their decision, and how they conduct them self. 58. This issue is getting more and more ridiculous having morons giving statement that it is OK to eat in the "bilik persalinan". Who are we kidding here? A changing room, kids shower there too, do they not urinate while showering? Even if they don't, which is likely a YES, would you eat in a changing room with showers in it? I'm trying to say that 'bilik persalinan' is not a suitable place for kids to eat. That is the whole point. Please don't try to justify eating in such places by doing acts like "buka puasa session" in the bilik persalinan. Stop The Drama. I don't pay taxes to see kids eating in bilik persalinan!

  63. BUKA PUASA IN THE CHANGING ROOM....
The headmaster claims that due to the survey of the changing room by the PIBG reps and the school personnel, they were unable to return home on time to break fast. Therefore, the buka puasa was done in the same changing room. This seems to be a last minute decision and I believe it is okay to buka puasa anywhere but please take a closer look at the photograph and you will notice that they are really eating. However, I am just puzzled with the variety of dishes placed on the table because how could the food be prepared within a very short span of time????? WAS THE FOOD ORDERED OR CATERED VERY MUCH EARLIER???? IS THIS A CAMOUFLAGE??? I may be wrong but please give it a thought!!!!

Anyway, whether it is the fasting month or not, the HM could have arranged a better place for the children to have their food. I wonder whether any teachers used the changing room during the recess time since Mar 2013.

  70. "The school canteen was facing problem in accommodating 350 students who go for recess at same time. This was happening since January 2013"
    - Since January 2013? Could you clarify what about the previous months before that? Couldn't a temporary place built during the school holidays just in time before the schooling period starts?

"This changing room which were equipped with chairs and tables has been operating SINCE March 2013 and not recently as claimed by some blogs. This was an initiative taken by HM to avoid pupil from sitting around the canteen under hot sun."
    - It's been happening since March and the school authority did not notify the parents? Again, please bare in mind that these students are primary school kids. For them, a toilet and a changing room with shower could mean the same.

"You can argue why there is sign of ' Tandas' here.. well that is not 'tandas'. It is changing room. There is NO toilet bowl at all and if you watch closely the student is actually taking out shoe to enter the 'Tandas'.The shoes are out there..why??"
    - If it's not a tandas then why was the tandas sign placed there *facepalm*. Err. . . from some of the photos I've seen, there were students wearing shoes inside the "tandas". What do you have to say about that?

"Since my day of schooling we dont practice eating inside classroom..."
    - Yes, that's because we never had problem with our canteen.

"There are 3 Non-Malay teachers teaching in that school. 2 Indians and an Asli. All of them are aware of this and has no problem with this temporary solution at all. Dont you think if Indians are really being treated badly these two teachers would have raged over it?"
    - If I have a problem with my company's management, would I bring it up to them? Of course not! I do not know if these teachers have problem with the kids eating in the "tandas", but if they have problem with it, I believe they will not share with their HM or outsider, simply because they wouldn't want to lose their job.

"The parent who posted this matter in FB only visited the school after being told by a school bus driver that children were eating inside the TOILET. She didnt know that this has been happening since Mac 2013 ."
    - If the school had taken the time to notify the parents via simple letter, they wouldn't have heard the news from someone's else mouth.

"This is the other side the story that we all failed to understand. The only question that the HM and the school failed to answer is ' Why the canteen has been closed during Ramadhan? ' Arent these small no of children also need to eat?"
    - I remember my schooling days, from Primary to Secondary school, we had never seen the canteen closed even once during fasting period.

      P = Persatuan
      I = Ibu
      B = Bapa dan
      G = Guru

Which clearly shows us that the parents were already informed about this. The so called 'parent' who posted the picture must be one of many who didn't bother to come for the PIBG meeting thus missed the important information. 74. This episode reveals a larger problem. That is how polarized this society is at the moment now. We chose to focus along racial/religion line instead of pupils as a collective whole when viewing the issue. This shows our govt has failed to address unity issue of the country, despite pouring in resources into unity programs. I believe, if all Malaysians can get equal treatment, resources from such programs can be redirected to build bigger canteens in the first place, thus, helping all pupils, as Malaysians, and not just malays, chinese or indians.

It's the environment that makes people sick to their stomach when consuming food in there. Although is just a temporary solution but this is NOT the right of way to put the students and teachers or even to buka puasa is totally unhygienic. So what is the facilities with basins and water supply are so convenience to the eateries to wash up or the actual toilet is suited 100meters away. I would prefer to eat in the class rather in there. It makes the outsiders thing the school and HM are totally uncivilized and poor judgement in all scenarios. It gives me a second thought to change my kids to other schools.

  87. HOT NEWS - Primary school children mistreated in a school in sg.buloh. My question if a school under renovations, this should be inform to the ministry, because the fund should be from the ministry. So when you hand over the proposal, you should state where the canteen would be, in a blueprint, if the school have a proper documentation. Now the ministry is the 1 to blame. If the blue print stated the children will be eating in toilet or beside toilet, how come educated ass hole ( HEADMASTER, MOE) didn't check properly. If the renovation is about changing the door from wood to glass, this can be done during school holiday.

    ReplyDelete
  88. It is not difficult to implement 2 recess sessions. A lot of schools are doing it in Singapore. Seems like a pretty straight forward and way more elegant solution.

Also, the school should give a satisfactory answer as to why the canteen has been closed during Ramadhan month if they want to convince the public that space constraint is the ONLY reason that the changing room is being used as a makeshift eating room. Having a buka puasa party in the room NOW does nothing to stop the anger. Prove of regular makan sessions of teachers and students of all races in the room BEFORE the incident got hot might help your argument more.

Reporters some time create havoc for public....so reporter responsible should apologised and do their research assignment before printing news that can jeopardise the racial harmony in our country... So, tell me, how many schools are THAT considerate to the kids? they are given a special place to rest before they start their school. parents who put up the pictures in the first place are not actively involve with their kids' activities in school. merely know how to criticize and spread lies. if parents deemed as it is inappropriate, believe me, it wont have survived from mac-july. so, please, enuf said about this issue. we are sick and tired of others who dont know and act as if you are above the others!!

The school admin can always stagger the recess to two or three sessions , this would have been a better solution as being practised in schools with 2000 - 3000 and more students. Its clear case of poor judgement and bad management. This admin just wanted an easy solution to a problem which hit them smack in face. Adjusting the timetable would have been much easier and practicle then to renovate the changing room. By the way , where will these students change for their PE and Co-cu activities, in the toilet????

  118. there's nothing wrong if the canteen operator choose not to sell during ramadhan month, especially if the school only have few non muslim teachers/students. my office also do not serve drinks to our non muslim/overseas visitors. at least they have proper place to eat, chair with table rather than having to eat while standing.

  121. Its good to know the other side of story.

However, the "Even the school had 'buka puasa session inside the 'toilet' YESTERDAY." photo merely showed a poor attempt by the school to justify its decision. Show us photo of 'buka puasa at the same room' taken PRIOR to the hoohaa, and I will say its genuinely innocent.

  122. TQ for the one sided clarification. What maybe the reasoning , it wrong to ask anyone to eat in a changing room, it still dirty and smelly. This school admin cleaarly lacks mangement skills , and it smacks of bad judgement and insensitivity. Not enough space to accomodate 350 students??? There are schools with upt to more than 3000 students , what do they do , use the toilets too? You are talking nonense. The simple solution would be to stagger the recess so that fewer students would be at the canteen at a particular time. Adjusting the timetable is much simpler. About the Indian teachers, do you think they dare to voice their displeasure? You know better, you as a MIC member , have never questioned you MIC or UMNO bosses. So don't drag these poor teachers to you politics. FInally , why still use the changing room during puasa month? Your arguements do not hold water. The HM and PK HEM has to take the fall. NO MORE excuses for RACIAL DISCRIMINATION.

  123. It's not an excuse at all, eventhough the school had their own fast breaking session in the 'toilet'.
Come on lah my dear school authority, pls think wisely & sensibly.
The value of respect is much, much more vital than money at all times.... as Islam does..!

Point is, there're always many ways, but unfortunately, you don't have the will & the sincerity. Otherwise life would have been so easy for anyone.

  124. Granted that this happened even before Ramadhan, the gravity of the situation is even worse that it hasn't been effectively addressed until now.

This does not explain the rest of the story :

    1. Why close the canteen for renovation during Ramadhan ? I believe the project schedule could have been better arranged / managed.

    2. Why wasn't a better alternative given throughout the long months ? Even if it is a "changing room", that still does not make this place a suitable place to have food. This is just simple logic and hygiene. Anyone who disagrees with this is probably just disagreeing for the sake of argument.

    3. Pictures of students wearing shoes inside this changing room is all over the media..Btw the changing room also happens to be located nearby the actual toilet.

Unless if they have no other open space or hall , why not set up a temporary tent at these areas instead ? Whatever it is, this is poor judgement from the school authorities. There are still no satisfactory answers as to why these decisions were made.

  125. Thanks for the other side of the story but however there are too much queries of the HM actions here. Why not spliting the recess sessions? If its the HM purpose to keep the pupils from sitting around the canteen under the hot sun, why not put up some sheds or extend the canteen? How many tables and chairs can you put into the shower room? How many pupils can you cater in this shower room? I dont think many of us would want to eat inside a shower room. During my time, we sit on the bench to hv our food or sit on the floor with our malay friends. Why is the canteen closed during Ramadhan? I thought this is a national school.. Those who are working with the gov would not want to create any chaotic issue eventhough they know the truth deep inside their heart. As long as they are not disturbed... Who wants to offended their boss at their workplace...

  126. The ORIGINAL reason this issue got the 15-minute fame was because it was reported by guneshwary kelly as a "mistreatment of non-muslims". Had this been a 100% malay muslim school, not single F would have been given.

  127. Oklah just assume really not enough space at canteen . let do some maths . 350 student 95% non muslim = 18 non muslim student . So why use changing room during ramadan ? Canteen can't accomodate 18 student ?

  129. It all boils down to poor administrative judgement on the part of the HM/teachers/PIBG. I don't think there is any school canteen that can cater to all their students at one particular time. They could just have staggered break. It's so stupid of them.
And the buka puasa in the Changing room is just a sandiwara. School still open after 7pm ???

    ReplyDelete
  130. OK, since now it is the right thing to do to break fast in the changing/shower room, can i suggest that they have ALL buka puasa sessions there from now on til the end of Raya?

The other children can use the canteen and since it is Ramadhan, I am sure it is under utilised since a majority of children are not eating?

  131. ah! For those trying to reason.. Don't bother bro.. They'll never be satisfied with whatever you say.. Why would they? Having a field day mouthing expletives don't they? Let them.. Hiding behind anonimity, everybody is a warrior harharhar

  132. Whether or not the changing rooms are clean or near the canteen or apa-apa ke, children eating in a washing facility is wrong, PERIOD!

How can anyone with the right frame of mind even rationalize this? So what if the canteen is too small? So what if the changing rooms have sinks? Does that mean we are allowed to put children up to such degradation?

It is just incredibly typical of the Asian teaching method to just tell children what to do, as if they are mindless drones. Asian teachers never provide children with the appropriate amount of respect.

Its's time to buck the eff up, teachers and principals of SK Pristana! You lot are an utter embarrassment and shouldn't be able to deem yourselves educators.

PS: To clean up this whole debacle, why not allow the kids to enjoy their meals in the staff-room. The teachers and principal on the other hand, can enjoy the sweet luxuries and extravagance that so supposedly come hand-in-hand with said washing facilities.

  133. I think everyone is missing the point. School children should be provided a proper sanitary and respectful place to consume food. Just because it's not a toilet does not mean it's sanitary. How many children do you know who doesn't pee in the shower? Holding a party in the shower to show how adults too can eat in there is ridiculous PR stunt. It is not going to help the HM look any more intelligent in making decision.

Also, the writer says that from his experience, no one practices eating in classrooms. So, it is normal to practice eating in showers? That dont make any sense at all.

This is a simple problem of over-crowding. The HM needs to take the time (yes, it will be tedious with lots of planning & paperwork) to actually split the school time table for 2 recess sessions - I had this in my schools both primary & secondary.

Lastly, the school needs to provide a clear explanation on why the canteen was closed during this past month.

  134. When do u visit the school? Do u hv any proof??

  135. 1. If shoes not allowed in that room why I can see some wear shoes in the buka puasa pic??
    2. including Malays were using this room as their 'canteen' - What you trying to say here. Our concern in why KIDS are eating in the changing room. regardless Malay, Indian, Chinese, Asli!!

    ReplyDelete
  136. I can see that the bathrooms are indeed bathrooms. But the question is why aren't the students allowed to use the canteen now that the majority of students are fasting.

It would be more convincing if the teachers were seen eating there before the whole issue got blown up. Now people would just say they're doing that for the sake of "show".

  138. all the people here only know how to talk talk talk talk talk and act so pro in commenting. without knowing other info you talk as if you know everything about the school and how it operates. had there been any better alternatives don't you think they would have taken the steps to do so ? then why the hell did the pibg ok'ed it in the first place ? and what ? The parents don't know about this since march ? To make matters worst some of you turned it into a racist issue now ?

  139. To many racist minded people. ..cannot think wisely in giving comment. What will happen to malaysia in future I dont know....seriously....be it indian or chinese or malay....all are same.

  140. Why only yesterday baru ada buka puasa in the 'TOILET'? What a sandiwara?

  141. Changing room with shower tab? Sure nobody pee inside while having shower to clean up? After sports activity go take shower.. the shower room sure smell nice ritee? If canteen renovation, give la student eat inside classroom not tell them eat at changing room. Last time during skool days puasa month, recess time... classroom automatic convert become resting/sleeping place. Those student not puasa were told to get out from classroom and cant eat inside class. But if not puasa mth.. no problem.. students can eat at class during recess time. Why not let those student eat inside classroom, and ask the puasa student go rest/sleep elsewhere instead instead?

  143. Suddenly all people are stating it's unhygenic to eat in that changing room when the reality is most stalls and eating places that they frequently go are no better than that. If eating near a 'toilet' is so disgusting...then I think half of malaysian are leading a disgusting life as for those who live in a single storey houses...the toilet is situated at the kitchen, very near to our dining table. Should we also petition the government to take actin against it?

    ReplyDelete
  144. Do you pee while showering?
I can see some malays react about this issue.
    Their mindset never change.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Malaysians nowadays are so weak! Cannot eat in changing room meh! Go to Manila, people live in rubbish dump. And you guys still wanna play racial card? Blaming Malays for discrimination while it is all about school administration.
And good job bro for the clarification on the issue.

  147. Why closed the canteen during Ramadhan? It's simple...think of it from a business perspective. I've read from one of many blogs that cover this story, the non muslim in the school are only around 30 pupils. If I am the canteen operator... I myself would not want to open the canteen during fasting month. Why bother to sell to only 30 people when you can make more money selling food at bazar ramadhan?
